Pavilion & Recreation Ground

The Pavilion will be taking bookings from 19th July 2021 and in line with total easing of COVID 19 restrictions by Central Government.

At its May 2021 full council meeting it was approved not to charge community groups/charities for hall or recreation ground hire during normal opening hours (9-4pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9-1pm Thurs) until the end of this financial year (31st March 2022) due to the impact COVID may have had on the finances of these groups. Outside of core business times (9-4pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9-1pm Thurs) community groups will be charged a service fee of £20 (up to 10pm daily) and £40 (after 10pm daily and weekends -Saturday and Sunday) for the cost of caretaking services.

Private party bookings and commercial hires including other Local Authorities wishing to use these facilities will still be subject to normal hire rates and charges.

Revised Terms of Hire are in place. Please note that Soham Town Council is the Venue Manager only and not responsible for the activities undertaken or health and safety of users during the Period of Hire by the Event Organiser. It remains the responsibility of the Event Organiser/booking person to retain adequate insurance cover, obtain all relevant permissions, undertake and retain for inspection risk assessment(s) for any activities and functions they wish to undertake during the Hire Period.

THE COUNCIL DOES NOT UNDERTAKE SAFE CUSTODY OF PROPERTY REMAINING ON THE PREMISES AND IS NOT LIABLE TO ANY DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF SUCH PROPERTY.

For open space [community events] taking place on the recreation ground please ensure you provide additional documentation as below. Please note that the recreation ground is subject to a number of Byelaws including dogs (even on lead) on are not allowed within the recreation ground.

Breach of any Byelaw on conviction attracts a penalty (Scale 2) of up to £500.
