Pavilion & Recreation Ground Hire

The Council has hired the pavilion and recreation ground for free to community groups and charities since May 2021. Free hire only applies during normal opening hours (9-4pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and 9-1pm Thurs).  Outside of these times community groups will be charged a service fee of £20 (up to 10pm daily) and £40 (after 10pm daily and weekends – Saturday and Sunday) for the cost of caretaking services.

Private party bookings and commercial hires including other Local Authorities wishing to use these facilities will still be subject to normal hire rates and charges.  These can be obtained by contacting the Town Council office.

Revised Terms of Hire are in place. Please note that Soham Town Council is the Venue Manager only and not responsible for the activities undertaken or health and safety of users during the Period of Hire by the Event Organiser. It remains the responsibility of the Event Organiser/booking person to retain adequate insurance cover, obtain all relevant permissions, undertake and retain for inspection risk assessment(s) for any activities and functions they wish to undertake during the Hire Period.

The Council does not undertake safe custody of property remaining on the premises and is not liable for any damage to or loss of such property.

For open space [community events] taking place on the recreation ground please ensure you provide additional documentation as below. Please note that the recreation ground is subject to a number of Byelaws including dogs (even on lead) are not allowed within the recreation ground.

Breach of any Byelaw on conviction attracts a penalty (Scale 2) of up to £500.
